Social Listening - Nicks Handmade Boots

     For my social listening blog post I decided to look into a company called Nicks Handmade Boots. Nicks Boots is a Boot manufacturer located in Spokane Valley, Washington. They pride themselves on using materials sourced from the U.S. and having American cobblers hand make their boots. These boots are also probably the most high quality boots that someone who works outdoors can buy. They are also extremely expensive, The highest price boots being 850 dollars and the cheapest being 500 dollars. Of course they also sell high end belts, leather bags, and Shoes. But their primary craft is Work boots and when I saw the price of these I realized how important work boots can be for people. And the people that get Nicks, value quality over quantity much more. I think when you buy boots like these you are looking to keep them for a very long time. Marketing in the news/ Kayak

 Looking for my “marketing in the news” idea I stumbled upon a story about this new Kayak scarecrow ad. If you aren't aware like I was, Kayak is basically a website/ app that helps you plan a trip. So when you are trying to put everything together for your vacation and figuring out what hotels and shuttles or flights to take it will help you. The Kayak search engine uses all the other travel sites out there to give you all the information you need for your trip. Anyway, after looking into Kayak I have found that they were founded in 2004. Supposedly they have been making comedic ads since they started and have always tried to keep things funny with the advertisement on their business. They do have sixty thousand subscribers on youtube and that is where you can find all of their ads as well. They released three different ads at the same time a couple weeks ago.  Hello my name is Fletcher. I am a student at Linn-Benton and it is my second year. After this year at Linn-Benton I plan to transfer over to OSU where I will continue the pursuit of a degree in Business Administration.       Some things that I enjoy outside of school include Dirt bikes and going to the gym and doing strength training. Going to the gym is a new thing to me and I have been trying to do it so I can stay healthy and strong. It was one of my New Years resolutions and I have been getting up at 6 in the morning every day and going to the gym first thing.      I also really like riding dirt bikes too and that is probably my main fun thing that I do when its not winter time. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 12 and it is something that never gets boring for me. Just in the past year my dad and brother and I started participating in the dirt bike races they have around Oregon.
